The witness's son went alone before dawn to a new deer spot along a game trail with arched trees. In pitch darkness he was growled and screamed at, with trees breaking and shaking, and was chased or bluff-charged out to the open field where the activity stopped. He called his father shaken, and they later found large footprints at the spot.
