Two companions pushing through thick brush toward their car were passed at very close range by a large dark fur-covered animal. They watched it run past them down a ridge and disappear into forest, noting its height, long arms, and face turned toward them. As they fled to a road and climbed a fence, they heard a loud chilling scream. They left for their car and reported no further contact despite later visits.
