Shortly after the large Canada wildfires, the witness and his girlfriend were in bed when an intense skunk-like chemical odor filled the house through open windows and lingered. The next afternoon he found heavy indentations in the mulch flower bed outside the bedroom window and a trackway of deeply pressed grass leading toward the woods. The strides took two of his steps to match one, and the flattened grass had not sprung back like his own footprints.
