Late at night in summer 1980, the witness was driving home slowly with family asleep in the car when a large hairy figure emerged from roadside trees to cross. She stopped fully as the figure paused in the headlights, shielding its eyes, allowing a close face-to-face view before it walked off the road. She noted its light reddish-brown hair, strong odor, and male features.
