The witness was driving a paper delivery route in darkness in light rain when an animal crossed the road in front of the truck. The animal crossed quickly in a few steps and climbed a steep grassy roadcut and disappeared. The witness described it as large, reddish-brown and long-haired with broad shoulders, moving unlike a bear and using its front limbs to climb very rapidly.
